Liverpool fans believe that the club will imminently announce the capture of Luis Diaz from Porto after noticing that they've removed their pinned tweet.

The last few days have passed in a blur and have felt surreal if I'm being honest. On-pitch success is always the aim but I can't help but admit that I've always been a bit jealous of Real Madrid, Chelsea and the Manchester clubs.

Watching from afar, it's always looked like fun as they regularly splash the cash and enjoy everything that comes with a high-profile transfer saga and it's been a while since we've been able to follow one of our own.

Ibrahima Konate was signed without a fuss, Thiago the same, Diogo Jota before any of the most reliable local journalists even really knew he was a target for the Reds and now we have signed Diaz.

Not only have Liverpool signed a truly exciting player that genuinely improves their chances of success in the Premier League and Champions League but they also flexed their muscle by beating Tottenham to his signature.

It's no secret that Spurs and Liverpool aren't exactly on the same level at the moment but it's encouraging to know that the Reds have that pull with players of Diaz's calibre given that he is the best player in the Liga Nos.

Surprisingly, he will earn a rather meagre wage by top footballers' standards, with SIC, via the Mirror reporting that Diaz is said to have agreed a €3.5m annual salary at Liverpool, which works out at just shy of £56,000-a-week.

This means he will be the 22nd highest-paid player at Anfield and will sit between Adrian, who reportedly earns £63,000-a-week and Curtis Jones, who earns £47,000-a-week, according to SalarySport.

The Mirror's David Maddock reports that the status of Diaz's move to Liverpool is 'imminent' and an 'announcement is likely soon'.

"Clubs discussing on final details - while Diaz has agreed personal terms to join Liverpool immediately. Luís Diaz will sign with Liverpool on a five year deal."

Liverpool fans on Twitter are some of the most incredible journalists you will ever see and I mean that. They will pick up on things you might never have noticed and some eagle-eyed supporters have picked up on the fact that the club has removed its pinned Tweet, inferring an announcement will follow soon.
