Liverpool’s ‘spine’ set for years following Liverpool deal of the summer worth millions

Whilst there was a growing worry over the future of key players in this Liverpool team, those doubts have been laid to rest over recent weeks.

Key contracts have been signed and now Liverpool can look to the future that will feature their key men both on and off the pitch.

Mohamad Salah’s new long-term deal was the news that every Liverpool fan wanted to hear last week as he committed his future to the club, and he now leads the Reds’ new-look attack into next season.

A strong spine is key to any team’s success and Liverpool have been able to boast one of the strongest in Europe; that will now continue for the next few seasons.

Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp has transformed Liverpool from a team struggling for top four football to an elite side in England and Europe.

His deal was renewed for another two years back in April of this year, with the German set to stay at the club for a minimum of four years.

He had previously suggested that he may have stepped down in 2024 – when his original deal ended – but with new signings and young talent aplenty, Klopp now has a new era to guide.

Securing Klopp for four more years means they will continue to be a force in England and Europe, utilising the same blueprint that has made them successful with their fearless leader in charge.

Alisson Becker

An elite spine needs a world-class goalkeeper and in Alisson Becker, Liverpool certainly have that.

Alisson has become one of the world’s best between the posts since arriving from Roma in 2018 and continues to go from strength to strength.

His deal sees him tied down until 2027, and the Brazilian has proven himself as one of Liverpool’s most important and influential players. Not forgetting his incredible late headered goal from a corner in 2021 against West Brom which ensured Liverpool qualified for the Champions League.

He boasted 20 clean sheets last season and won his second Golden Glove of his career as he stood out as the best keeper in the league last season. His shot-stopping, one-on-one ability and his distribution all improved to see him become one of the best in the world.

Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk has been a titan at the back for Liverpool and he signed a new deal back in 2021 to ensure he would stay at the club until 2025.

Eyebrows were raised by many at the £75m price tag back in 2018, but that looks like a bargain now as the Dutch defender has gone on to win everything with Liverpool and establish himself as the best centre-back in the world.

Vital to how Liverpool play, his pace and physical gifts allow Liverpool to always play on the front foot, and his dominating style of play has seen build an incredible record at Anfield in the league – where he still hasn’t lost a Premier League.

He is the foundation for Liverpool’s success and will continue to be in his prime over the coming years alongside the rising talents of Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez as well as the experienced Joel Matip.

Mohamed Salah

The confirmation of Salah until 2025 completes Liverpool’s spine, preserving that solid core that has been the foundation for success in recent years.

His goals and assists are vital to Liverpool, and he is coming off the back of another stellar season where he won the Golden Boot and Playmaker award as well as the FA Cup and Carabao Cup as well.

He now looks to lead a new frontline with Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

His experience will be key to helping his two new strike partners flourish.

Klopp, Alisson, van Dijk and Salah are all key to Liverpool’s present and future and their contract deals ensure that the Reds will still be competing for major honours for years to come.
