Second approach made - Liverpool told they can complete £25m attacking signing within two weeks

Liverpool have once again made contact with PSV Eindhoven over signing Donyell Malen after first contacting the Dutch side in January.

We first reported on interest in the former Arsenal striker at the end of June and with the Netherlands knocked out of the European Championships, it will be a lot easier to pursue Malen.

That said, the situation is complicated by Borussia Dortmund making first contact with Mino Raiola, with whom they have an excellent relationship due to working together on multiple occasions in the past.

Liverpool's last time working with Raiola was when Mario Balotelli left the club after being iced out by Jurgen Klopp which prompted the agent to angrily lash out at him in the media.

That said, the source close to Anfield Central that brought us the initial Malen news now says that there is no bad blood between Raiola and Liverpool even if the Reds would prefer to work with a different agent.

We're also told that Liverpool again reached out to PSV Eindhoven through intermediaries to see if their stance on selling him remains the same and how much signing him would cost after impressive performances at the EUROs.

Malen started the tournament on the bench for the Netherlands and made two starts and although he got two assists, he bottled a massive chance to score a 1v1 against Czech Republic before they were eliminated.

PSV have told the Reds their asking price remains at around £25million and that they are ready to sell. A source, who was helpful on the Ibrahima Konate transfer story, claims that a deal can be completed within two weeks if they accelerate their plans to sign him.

The Eredivisie side will not stand in Malen's way as the 22-year-old looks to take the next step in his fledgling career but Liverpool will need to catch a wake up soon to avoid being beaten to the punch by Borussia Dortmund.
