Liverpool tipped to finally sign £45M playmaker Jurgen Klopp would transform into an incredible player

Napoli playmaker Piotr Zielinski has been tipped for a move to Liverpool in the future.

The Polish attacking midfielder is an experienced Polish international and has featured over 280 times for the Naples club.

Italian agent Gianluca di Carlo told Tuttomercatoweb that Zielinski would have "no problems" in making the step up to a club like Real Madrid or Liverpool.

He currently has two years left on his current contract, and is worth around £36m, according to Transfermarkt.

Zielinski on Napoli

With Napoli falling short of the title last season, he played a key role featuring in 35 games and producing six goals and five assists from midfield.

He had been linked with a move in the past to Liverpool and Manchester City, but the 28-year-old seems set to stay in Italy for the time being.

With transfer links to Tottenham earlier this summer, he affirmed his commitment to Napoli when speaking to Sky Italia:

“I don’t understand where these rumours come from,” Zielinski claimed.

“I don’t think my adventure at Napoli will end this summer. I’ve got an important contract that will last another two years. I feel good in Naples. The desire to leave the club never came out of my mouth.

“I want to continue with Napoli because they are a great team."

Previous Liverpool connection

Liverpool have been linked with the forward in the past right at the start of Jurgen Klopp's reign.

The Merseysiders came incredibly close to signing a fresh-faced Zielinski from Empoli back in 2016.

The then-22-year-old was even pictured posing for phots with the Liverpool kit.

That was before Napoli snatched Zielinski from under Klopp’s nose (John Obi Mikel style) completing a £13 million deal.

High praise

The Polish international had been dubbed a player who 'could be better than Kevin de Bruyne' by Italian legend Giuseppe Bergomi, when he spoke to Przeglad Sportowy.

Zielinski, 28, also received high praise from agent di Carlo, who had known the player since he was just 16:

“He is a great player. In my opinion, he could go and play for (the big) teams tomorrow, like Liverpool or Real Madrid." He claimed.

“In short, Napoli is right to keep him. Therefore, I don’t think – unless there are offers from great clubs – that he will leave.”
