Liverpool submit proposal to sign Kylian Mbappe
Liverpool have reportedly made a proposal to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG after reports of there being an English club in the race to sign him.
The Parisians are adamant they do not want to lose their star player this summer but every player has his price and it seems even Liverpool are trying to find out what that might be.
According to the reliable RMC Sport, an English club has made concrete contact with Mbappe and PSG and now, according to Mundo Deportivo, it would appear Liverpool is that club.
That's before personal terms come into the equation and with the club yet to reach an agreement with Mohamed Salah, the club's best attacker in the Premier League era, it wouldn't be a good look to hand a 22-year-old a massive contract while pinching pennies over a legend like Mo.
Reports suggest that Mbappe earns €398,000 per week and he isn't going to earn that amount at Anfield under FSG unless they suddenly decide to radically change the way the club is run and that is highly unlikely.
The young Frenchman fits perfectly the Real Madrid 'Galactico' profile and while he has been linked with a move to Liverpool since he joined PSG, it will take a financial miracle for him to move to Merseyside.
John Henry reportedly took Kylian Mbappe and his family on a 'two hour' ride in his private jet in 2017 but ultimately failed as he joined PSG.
While Erling Haaland will hardly be willing to accept petty cash, it seems as though he's a much better fit for the Liverpool transfer model than Kylian Mbappe.
The Norwegian also seems like he'd be a better fit for the style of play that Liverpool have in place under Jurgen Klopp.
His crazy mentality would see him be an absolute menace under the German in the Reds' counter-pressing unit and I imagine he would be an instant fan favourite.
