Jurgen Klopp has close to a full squad to choose from as Inter Milan visit Anfield for the first time since 2008.

The Italians last paid the Merseysiders a visit during the 2007/2008 season, resulting in a 2-0 win for the Reds.

It was also in the Round of 16 as Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard scored in the 85th and 90th minutes respectively.

Liverpool head into this season's Ro16 second leg with a 2-0 lead as well after scoring late and will look to mimic the Reds from 2008 ensuring they don't concede and Klopp wouldn't mind a 1-0 win against a dangerous Inter side that won Serie A last season.

The boss said at his press conference yesterday: "The danger everybody knows about. It’s 2-0, the lead I think which got turned over most often in the history of football."

Confirmed team news and injury latest

At his latest press conference, Klopp confirmed that three players have returned to training.

He said that Roberto Firmino, Thiago and Joel Matip have all returned to training.

The boss said: “I think all trained yesterday (Sunday) fully. I’m not sure yet what we make of that exactly, to be honest, because we have to see how they react.

“So, Thiago was only a week out, probably will be fine but we have to wait for it. Joel was only three or four days I think, so he is fine, I would say.

“With Bobby, it was longer out, it was [his] first session, so we have to see if we have to stress that or if it makes probably sense to give him just a few more days with proper training.

“Because we obviously don’t train properly today, it’s a minus-one session, it’s tactical stuff, not high intensity and Bobby might need something else. We will see that.

“But they are all in training.”

Predicted starting XI to face Inter Milan

After I got the team to face West Ham spot on, I'd like to keep it going and while I originally thought Klopp might rest Naby Keita, he was fantastic against West Ham.

I think the Guinean will start even if he's withdrawn for Curtis Jones after around 60 or 65 minutes but he deserves to start after he dictated the flow of the game against the Hammers in Thiago's absence.

Alisson will start, of course. As will Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Virgil van Dijk is a guaranteed start for Liverpool and any other football team on the planet but next to him, who knows?

Ibrahima Konate could start but Joel Matip, who reportedly earns £140,000/week, has returned to training so he could start as well.

I'm going to predict that Ibou will not be selected even though he started the first leg as Matip was only ruled out with illness as he couldn't quite predict Michail Antonio.

That said, he handled Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez with ease.

Up front, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane will start and Diogo Jota could get a nod after not starting a major game since Leicester City in the Premier League but Luis Diaz has looked outstanding so I expect he'll get a start again but that's the only major doubt I have.

Predicted Starting XI to face Inter Milan: Alisson; Robertson, van Dijk, Matip, Trent; Fabinho, Henderson, Keita; Salah, Mane, Diaz.
