Liverpool monitor Mbappe after exciting new report

Liverpool FC are said to be monitoring Paris Saint Germain forward Kylian Mbappe's situation ahead of him wanting to leave next summer.

We didn't get #Mbappe2020, nor did we get #Sancho2020 but we did get #ThiagoFriday and #JotaSaturday so this transfer window has certainly epitomised bringing good things to those who wait.

That said, it seems like the club will at least be exploring the possibility of #Mbappe2021 after L'Equipe reported the stunning news that the Frenchman wants to leave his home country next summer.

A move to La Liga (most probably Real Madrid) has always been suggested for the World Cup-winning attacker as the Frenchman grew up with posters of Cristiano Ronaldo littered over the walls of his room and is said to have an admiration for manager and countryman Zinedine Zidane.

However, according to GFFN, Mbappe would consider also a move to Liverpool if Klopp were to decide to go hell for leather for the forward.

Liverpool's manager is a known fan of the player and reached out in an effort to try sign him from Monaco after his break out 2016/17 season where he scored 26 goals in 44 appearances at 18-years old.

Those communications have supposedly "never stopped."

GFFN have also provided an insight into how the situation is likely to play out next summer if Kylian chooses not to renew at Paris Saint Germain.

As he'll have just one year left on his contract by this point, it's likely whoever goes in for him will be able to get him on a 'cut-price' deal but this will still most certainly involve a nine-figure deal.

This prices out Bayern Munich who are said to be refusing to entertain such deals as a matter of principle, while personal preference and club allegiances prevent a move to Juventus, FC Barcelona and Manchester City.

This really only leaves Liverpool and Real Madrid as realistic options for Mbappe who surely is keen to move to a team who offers a chance to not just play in the Champions League but dominate the competition.

It's still most likely that the Frenchman becomes Madrid's newest galactico if he chooses to leave next summer but with Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané all turning 29 in 2021 there is a chance one decides to take on a new challenge, paving the way for a massive offer PSG's way.

Let us know what you think below. We'd all love to see Mbappe in Liverpool Red but would you still take him if it meant selling one of the current front three?
