Liverpool are reportedly the most "probable" destination for Gavi this summer if he does not sign a new contract, according to reports.

The Reds are reportedly ready to pay the €50million required to trigger Gavi's release clause and bring him to Anfield if he does not commit himself to Barcelona.

But if he does not sign a new deal, Liverpool will be waiting to snap him up.

A report from Tuttomercatoweb citing Repubblica states that the Merseysiders are the most "probable" destination for Gavi should talks break down between him and Barca.

The Reds have "expressed interest several times" already as they look to add a new central midfielder to their ranks.

A move to sign Aurelien Tchouameni has fallen through due to Real Madrid's superior financial strength and Gavi, 17, could be an extremely interesting way to improve Jurgen Klopp's side.

Thiago has the left central midfield role on lock while Fabinho is the best (and only) holding midfielder at the club so signing a player that can make the right central midfield role his own is a smart move.

Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and co. would struggle to match Gavi even if he is yet to turn 18.

And for €50million, they'd be getting a top, top player.
