Barcelona beware: Liverpool have submitted a £60million bid to poach attacking target

Liverpool have submitted a £60million bid to sign Raphinha, according to Spanish reports.

Darwin Nunez has just joined the club for a club-record fee of €100million to replace Sadio Mane, who is on his way to Bayern Munich.

By all accounts, the 30-year-old is closing in on a move to the Allianz Arena and Nunez is his replacement.

Adding another attacker to the side is unlikely given that signing a new midfielder is by far the more necessary next move but I doubt many fans would turn their noses up at Raphinha.

Unless it’s instead of a midfielder.

According to Sport, via the Daily Star, Liverpool have made an offer to Leeds United in the region of £60million.

His agent, Deco, has so far rejected every offer for his client’s services.

Leeds are unwilling to let him leave but they will find it difficult to reject offers for the Brazilian if he forces a move away from Elland Road.

Raphinha has apparently said ‘no’ to joining Liverpool in favour of joining Barcelona this summer but with the La Liga outfit still battling financially, things aren’t straightforward.

Their matters are complicated by their plans to add Robert Lewandowski to their squad this summer.

Sadio Mane is believed to be Bayern Munich’s replacement for the Polish forward, who Liverpool have preemptively replaced by signing Darwin Nunez.

Darwin Nunez interview

Brazil legend, Rivaldo, urged him to join the Reds previously saying: “If he were to make the move, he may not be a regular starter, but I’m sure it would be a big step in his career.”

If Liverpool did sign Raphinha, Klopp would have truly amazing depth in attack.

On the left, he would have both Luis Diaz with Jota and Nunez able to play in that role too.

Down the middle, Nunez, Jota and Firmino would be more than enough.

On the right, Salah and Raphinha would be the best right-sided depth in the Premier League.
