Exclusive: Liverpool contact the agent of €45million Real Madrid star

Off the back of Liverpool's damaging 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League, interesting information has emerged regarding the Man of the Match, Vinicius Junior.

The Brazilian scored two goals and terrorised Trent Alexander-Arnold with his pace, causing the Scouser to gift Marco Asensio a goal in the first half.

According to a source close to Anfield Central, Liverpool contacted Vinicius Junior and his representatives earlier this year to find out if he'd be interested in a summer move to Merseyside.

The answer was a resounding 'no', with his intermediaries making it fully clear that the 20-year-old wants to stay at Real Madrid and become a success for them after they paid €45million to sign him in 2017 when he was a teenager.

We're told by an informed source that the Reds have been making enquiries all around Europe as they investigate who to sign this summer, with Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri in the shop window.

Vinicius hasn't exactly been a hit sensation for Real Madrid but Jurgen Klopp believes he has a bright future and as he did with the likes of Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Robert Lewandowski at Dortmund and Salah, Firmino and Mane at Liverpool, the German feels as though he could turn the young Brazilian into a household name.

Of course, the Liverpool manager won't get his chance with the Real Madrid star rejecting his approach. That said, sporting director Michael Edwards has a long list of potential names as the club looks to sign a young forward that won't break the bank
