Liverpool can sign RB Salzburg forward, Karim Adeyemi, for €40million but they need to act quickly as Borussia Dortmund have everything "set on player side" but are yet to reach an agreement with the Austrian club.

On Tuesday, it was reported by Sky Sports Germany reporter Marc Behrenbeck that RB Salzburg will only sell the forward for €40m.

They will not accept anything less ‘under any circumstances’ with Dortmund reportedly lowballing them with an offer in the region of €30-35m.

Significantly, Liverpool are ready to sign Adeyemi if he is indeed available for €40m and so the stage may be set for a dramatic transfer battle but the Reds need to make an offer of their own.

“There are some, especially from the Premier League, who would take him immediately for 40 million euros. That is not a lot of money for such a player,” Behrenbeck said.

“I still assume that the deal will go through. We are too far along for that.”

According to Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund have already sorted out everything that needs to be on the player side of things but confirms that there is yet to be an agreement in place between the two clubs which leaves time for Liverpool.

Adeyemi is a bright talent and he would be truly special under Klopp in my opinion but it's fair to assume the 20-year-old would not want to play second fiddle to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Luis Diaz.

In 34 games this season, the left-footed forward has scored 19 times and while 15 of those have come in the Austrian Bundesliga, he does have 3 goals and 2 assists in the Champions League as well which is very respectable.

What I love most about Adeyemi is his willingness to drive at players and go beyond them.

It's what many Liverpool fans immediately become obsessed with about Luis Diaz as the Colombian is so good at taking his opponent on and beating him for pace. I'm not sure Adeyemi is quite as quick but he's very skilful and blessed with trickery on the ball.
