James Pearce reveals transfer news that will excite and please Liverpool fans

Liverpool have conducted some great business this summer signing young talents whilst also letting fringe players leave for good money.

With plenty of question marks next to fringe players, The Athletic's James Pearce gave an update on one of the latest transfer stories of recent weeks.

We know Roberto Firmino has entered the final year of his current deal, which has seen fans become worried that their Brazilian favourite could leave the club.

However, Pearce's latest news should delight Liverpool fans.

Latest reports on Roberto Firmino

According to The Athletic‘s Liverpool reporter James Pearce, the club have no interest in selling Roberto Firmino this summer.

It's claimed Juventus' '£20m offer' has been dismissed by senior Anfield sources who have rubbished speculation that Juventus have made a bid of £20m for the forward.

The player remains in Klopp's plans, despite the fact he could agree a pre-contract with another club from January with his deal expiring next summer.

“Everything looks really good and I am absolutely fine with Firmino. For me, no doubt about his quality, so yes, he is essential for us”.

We recently debated who could replace Firmino if he did leave Anfield.

Still an important player?

Despite winning a Premier League title, Champions League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup so far, he has seen his game-time reduced in recent seasons.

With the addition of Darwin Nunez the Brazilian has fallen down the pecking order behind him and Diogo Jota.

However, with the sale of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich and Jota's hamstring injury that will see him miss the start of the season - it could open the door for Firmino.

His five goals in seven Champions League games were vital last season as the Reds reached the final and with Jota unavailable, Firmino may be a key player in the early stages of the season.
