Medical complete and personal terms already agreed: Liverpool could agree deal to sign sensational playmaker for free

Liverpool will receive a £12million windfall from Fulham for Harry Wilson at the end of the season and they could put that to use to sign Fabio Carvalho.

An £8million deal for Fabio Carvalho fell through on deadline day as Liverpool ran out of time to complete the necessary paperwork.

There seems to be a lot of confidence surrounding the potential for a deal to be struck for the summer, with Carvalho's contract expiring at the end of the season, and it might just be that former Liverpool player, Harry Wilson, could help sign the 19-year-old.

Liverpool agree to waive Wilson payments for a year to help with FFP

According to a report from Football.London, the Reds are set for a transfer windfall at the end of the season after a deal they struck with Fulham over payment for Wilson.

The Welshman finally permanently departed Anfield in the summer after spending season after season on loan and after a £12m fee was agreed, a structured deal was agreed to give Fulham some breathing room due to Financial Fair Play pressure.

Liverpool agreed to waive payment for the transfer of Harry Wilson for the first 12 months of his move to Craven Cottage, a move which has seen him score 9 goals and assist 11 for the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The Cottagers are targeting an immediate return to the Premier League which is why they were unwilling to allow Fabio Carvalho to leave the club in January and so, could the goodwill fostered between the two clubs be put to good work?

Liverpool could waive a portion of Wilson's fee in exchange for Carvalho

Transfer negotiations are fluid and while some clubs may outwardly maintain that certain things are off the table, creative thinking can be productive for both clubs in talks and so Liverpool and Fulham can help each other the way they did in the summer.

The Reds will want to save their transfer funds to invest in other areas of the squad as we are yet to see Georginio Wijnaldum replaced and on top of that, James Milner's contract expires in the summer.

Liverpool could agree a deal with Fulham to sign Carvalho whereby the Reds don't pay a fee but waive a portion of Wilson's £12m fee in exchange.
