Confirmed: £54.2m new signing lands in England and has already found a house

Peter Krawietz, assistant manager to Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed that Ibrahima Konate will get a full pre-season under his belt after joining the Reds.

There was speculation that he might go to the Olympics with France but Les Bleus confirmed he would not go to Tokyo for the games.

Now, Krawietz has confirmed that the Frenchman will be at pre-season from day one as he gets set to visit Kirkby for the first time.

The assistant manager told Liverpoolfc.com: “This is always a massive advantage if you can join the full pre-season especially for a new player."

Pre-season gets underway on the 12th of July and it's great to know that Konate will get the maximum benefit of being at the training ground for the entirety of the off-season preparations.

Not only will he have had a good rest to recharge his batteries following a season in which he returned from a serious injury which was followed by a series of niggling issues but he will be able to show the coaching staff what he's worth.

As Anfield Central was told at the end of April, RB Leipzig's coaches believe he will one day become the best central defender on the planet.

The only obstacle that Konate will need to overcome is one that is the same for every player that pulls on the famous Red kit and that's expectation.

Hype has been building around a move to Anfield for several months but with Virgil van Dijk alongside him, Fabinho in front of him and Alisson Becker in the rear, he has all the tools to succeed in the Premier League.

Furthermore, he will have serious competition from the likes of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip while Nathaniel Phillips and Ben Davies will also be snapping at his heels.

This will likely lead to him upping his levels beyond what we have seen him perform at for RB Leipzig and after a deal totalling €63m (£54.2m), he is expected to operate at a high level.
