Caoimhin Kelleher is set to go out on loan for the 2021/22 season and although it's great news for the player himself, it could be bad news for the Reds.

Adrian is set to renew his contract with Liverpool despite taking his time to consider other options.

We reported exclusively on the 31st of May that Kelleher going out on loan was being touted and now, the Daily Mail's Simon Jones confirms this but it could have negative repercussions next season if Alisson Becker gets injured.

We've seen at times that Adrian isn't the best goalkeeper and always seems to be on the verge of making a major error, with his performance against Aston Villa one of the worst displays in net since Loris Karius in Kyiv.

Even then, the German at least had the excuse of being concussed after a collision with Sergio Ramos while Adrian was just shocking against Dean Smith's side.

Karius will leave the club permanently this summer but that has never been in doubt after the way the last few years have gone for him.

Back to Adrian, his presence in the side next season could have dire consequences and given that Alisson has seen his injury record take a dive in recent years, there is a good chance that he will be out of the side for at least a few games next season.

The Brazilian hasn't been as stellar this season but with Liverpool missing all their senior centre-backs, this was to be expected and with Virgil van Dijk expected back for the start of the new season, he should return to normal next term.

Liverpool will need to have their best defence fully fit next season to stand a chance of being in the Premier League title race next term but van Dijk's return alone should guarantee at least 15 more points which would have left the Reds two points behind Man City this term.

That's before you factor in Ibrahima Konate's arrival at Anfield as well as any kind of improvement in attack.
