“Unfortunately”: New Liverpool signing already out with an injury that was picked up during his medical

Liverpool’s new signing, Calvin Ramsay, has already been ruled out with an injury but Jurgen Klopp says it’s only minor.

The Scottish defender joined the Reds this summer from Aberdeen and is expected to push Trent Alexander-Arnold for his spot in the team.

Of course it would take an extraordinary effort to dislodge the Scouser from the starting XI but every player needs competition to perform to their best consistently.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Klopp revealed that he is on the sidelines as a precaution to help avoid worsening the issue.

“Unfortunately, Calvin is now not training with us in the moment, he has a little injury,” Klopp said.

“Nobody knew, we found it when he did his medical check.

“Until today he has no problems but the medical department tells us if we don’t take care for that now, he will have a problem in the future.

“So, when you are that young then of course he has a long career ahead of him, so we are very responsible in these moments.

“So he didn’t train yet with the team but is doing a lot of fitness work – it will not take too long I think.
