Anthony Taylor named as referee for Liverpool vs. Wolves

Experts at AceOdds have conducted a study to reveal how teams perform under certain referees in the last 5 years.

  • Liverpool have an average win ratio of 66.3% over the last 5 years whereas Wolves have a 41% win rate.

Liverpool win exactly 60% of the time when Taylor is in charge of the game.

When it comes to the referee in charge of VAR, Stuart Attwell, Liverpool win 67% of the time and Wolves only 50% of the time.

Who are the best and worst referees for various Premier League teams?

Looking at each team’s win ratio for Premier League matches under certain officials, we can see who are each team’s favourite referees… and who’d rather not see come out the tunnel to officiate.

There are certainly some unusual cases here with teams with unusually strong ratios compared to their usual performances, for example, when Michael Oliver referees a game for Southampton they win more than any other team! Not bad considering Oliver’s 138 games in charge at the top level.
