Jarrod Bowen is missing from West Ham’s squad to face Brentford FC after it was reported that Liverpool have added him to their list of attacking targets.
The Reds have yet to make their second signing of the summer after signing Ibrahima Konate and now fans think a hint has been dropped that Bowen could be no.2.
The Athletic reports that Bowen is on Jurgen Klopp’s list of players to provide depth for the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
While many find this displeasing, we have been wrong in the past.

There is no suggestion as to whether or not Bowen is injured or not but after he trained all week, being committed from West Ham’s squad for the friendly is curious.
Transfermarkt reports that the 24-year-old is worth £27million but we have seen Premier League clubs inflate English players’ prices drastically before.
Bowen had a decent 2020/21 season, scoring 8 goals and assisting 6 times but he’s still not someone the Reds should be looking at in my humble opinion.
He’s a decent dribbler and, as per WhoScored, “he created a clear-cut goalscoring opportunity more frequently than Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota in the Premier League last season.”
That said, Liverpool should be targeting players with the potential to develop into the best in their position and while Bowen is a good player, he’s not a special player.
Signing him would be a very disappointing signing.
