Liverpool and Manchester City played out an enthralling 2-2 draw at the Etihad on Sunday before Pep Guardiola was spotted chatting to Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman was solid if not unspectacular for Liverpool against City but he did everything asked of him against an incredible side that Guardiola seemed to set up to imitate the Reds’ gung-ho tactics.
Man City played a lot more direct than they normally would and it would appear Pep Guardiola was quite direct with van Dijk, who reportedly earns £240,000/week, after the game although it’s unclear what he was talking to the centre-back about.

The pair were filmed chatting after the game and while most of their conversation is inaudible, Guardiola seemed to be asking for something and van Dijk replied: “I’ll speak to him!”
The title race is still on but, unfortunately for Jurgen Klopp and his players, it’s in Guardiola and his players’ hands. If they win their remaining games, they will be crowned champions.
If they slip up, it gives Liverpool a window of opportunity but then the Reds need to be perfect for the rest of the season which is a big ask but certainly not impossible.
