Rangers midfielder Nico Raskin has declined to shut down talk of a summer departure as his future at Ibrox remains firmly up in the air.
The 25-year-old is currently representing Belgium at the World Cup, coming on as a second-half substitute in their 1-1 draw with Egypt in Seattle.
Italian sources have indicated that Atalanta are keen to sign Raskin this summer, reportedly viewing him as a replacement for Ederson, who has attracted interest from Manchester United.
Raskin still has two years remaining on his Ibrox contract, but Rangers may look to sell the ex-Standard Liege man to maximise their return on the midfielder.
Speaking ahead of Belgium’s clash with Iran in Los Angeles, Raskin deflected questions about Serie A interest and the possibility of a big-money move.
He said: “I’m not thinking about that right now. I’m not occupied with that at the moment. I leave that to those who represent me in Belgium and I’m focused on what’s happening here.”
Raskin acknowledged that a World Cup appearance is a significant opportunity for any player looking to attract attention from top clubs across Europe.
He added: “I am not concerned with a possible transfer, nor with the amount of a future transfer fee. I leave all that to my agents. Of course, it’s always good to come and get some minutes at the World Cup which is a moment to showcase yourself.”
The Belgian was clear that club matters have been set aside entirely while the tournament is ongoing, with Belgium his sole focus for now.
He continued: “But right now, we’ve put club life on hold to concentrate 100 per-cent on what is happening here and trying to do the best for Belgium.”
Back in Scotland, Derek McInnes was appointed as Danny Rohl’s replacement at Rangers this week, joining from Hearts after Rohl departed for Red Bull Salzburg.
Raskin confirmed he had spoken with the outgoing Rohl before the tournament but has not yet been in contact with new boss McInnes.
When asked whether he had heard from the new manager, Raskin said: “No, not yet. I’ve seen a little bit of what’s going on. I’ve had contact with the outgoing coach but I haven’t gathered any more information beyond that.”
The situation leaves Rangers facing an uncertain summer regarding one of their most prominent midfielders, with clarity unlikely until the World Cup concludes.
