Mohamed Salah Injury Update As Liverpool Return Edges Nearer

Mohamed Salah is edging towards a return to action for Liverpool as his hamstring injury looks close to being fully healed after missing the Arsenal defeat.

The Egyptian was unable to contribute to the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates on Sunday evening due to the injury he picked up at AFCON.

Latest on Mohamed Salah's hamstring injury

An update via Mo Salah's Instagram stories, however, suggests Salah is close to a return as he shared an image of him working out at home in anticipation of his return to action.

Considering his hamstring was injured, he looks more than ready to return to training and then the starting lineup.

It remains to be seen when he will return to the side with it currently unlikely he will be in the lineup to face Burnley on Saturday evening.

The Reds are back at Anfield which will be helpful as Jurgen Klopps to pick his players up and get back to winning ways at the first opportunity.

Salah was a huge miss at Arsenal especially given that Darwin Nunez was on the bench as a precaution. The former Basel attacker is easily the most important player to Liverpool's success and his return couldn't come any sooner.

What's going to happen to Mo Salah when Jurgen Klopp leaves?

That's the big question, isn't it?

Now that we know Jurgen Klopp is leaving the club at the end of the season, more and more questions over the future of Liverpool FC are emerging.

Salah's future has been a concern for awhile as it's almost certain Saudi Pro League clubs will return with bids for the Egyptian after Al-Hilal had a £150 million offer rejected at the end of the summer transfer window.

With Klopp no longer at the club, will Salah want to stay? That depends on a range of factors, including who the new manager is, what his thinking was before he learned Klopp is leaving etc.

Personally, I can see him staying as the Premier League remains the biggest challenge he can find in football. With Klopp leaving, continuing to be successful at Liverpool despite the turbulence would be huge for his legacy.

Only time will tell what happens with Salah's future but if he were to be sold, it would be for a lot more than £150M.
