Arsene Wenger warns Jurgen Klopp to avoid major temptation before he leaves Liverpool FC

Jurgen Klopp is sadly leaving Liverpool FC at the end of the season and so naturally, the managerial hunt is well underway with Xabi Alonso the favourite to replace him at Anfield.

But Klopp has been warned by Arsene Wenger to avoid the temptation of getting involved with selecting his replacement.

When asked by beIN Sports whether Klopp should be involved in the replacement process, Wenger was very firm and said that he should avoid getting involved.

The former Arsenal boss said: "No. I don’t think so. Unless he becomes officially appointed by Liverpool as an advisor, you do your job and you let the other people do their job.

"I think organisations work well when that is the case – everybody does what they’re responsible for.

"At least you know when it doesn’t work who to speak to.”

Jurgen Klopp has no plans to get involved with choosing who replaces him at Anfield

There is no doubt that Klopp agrees.

The manager even said during the press conference to announce his decision to leave the club that he has no say in selecting his successor.

When asked if he is involved, Klopp replied:" “Why should I? In this world, you have a few faces who do an incredible job you don’t see too often.

“It looks like I do all the work, I can’t. What we have built is an incredibly strong structure behind the scenes. So many people work here with only one idea: to find the best thing for Liverpool.”

FSG absolutely HAS TO get this right

Replacing a manager is always way more complicated than replacing a player. But, when you're replacing a manager as influential and iconic as Jurgen Klopp, there is no room for error.

Fortunately, Liverpool FC runs very smoothly with scores of talented people behind the scenes. From kit management to deciding the transfer budget, the club is filled with top, top staff.

There's no way to tell if the transition to life after Klopp will be smooth but FSG have done a brilliant job at Liverpool in recent years and while they have made several high-profile mistakes, they seem to far more receptive to supporter criticism than other clubs in the Premier League.

Time will tell.
