Liverpool have officially confirmed via their website that Neco Williams and Wilson will join the pre-season camp on Monday.
The Welsh duo has enjoyed a break from football after they were eliminated from the EUROs by Denmark in a Round of 16 clash which actually saw Wilson red-carded.
However, they are now set to join the Reds after they switched to a different training camp due to issues regarding the weather and the playing surface.
Williams and Wilson to arrive for pre-season
A post on the official club website reads: ” Williams and Wilson are set to join Liverpool’s pre-season training camp and begin sessions on Monday.
“The pair will link up with their teammates in Austria after being afforded extended time off after representing Wales at Euro 2020.
“The Reds have been based in Salzburg since last Monday, with 34 players working at the base in preparation for the 2021-22 season.”
Williams and Wilson future in doubt
Both could leave the club this summer due to a lack of game time but Liverpool are yet to receive acceptable offers for either player although there is plenty of time for that to change.
The Athletic reported four weeks ago that Williams will push for a move away this summer, with the Reds ‘set to demand at least £10 million for the Wales full-back.’
They are reluctant to let him leave but empathise with his desire to play more regularly. If Michael Edwards can negotiate a sell-on or buyback clause into a deal to sell him, it could be a very decent deal.
Harry Wilson is also set to leave although Liverpool are far more open to a summer exit for the 24-year-old as he has failed to make an impression on Jurgen Klopp.
Even with Xherdan Shaqiri set to leave this summer, there is no room for him in the German’s squad and the Mirror reported on the 16th of July that a £10million fee will also be accepted for Wilson.
PSV Eindhoven are demanding just €30m (£25m) for Donyell Malen and so selling the two wantaway Welsh stars could see Liverpool sign an exciting and much-needed player.
