Mohamed Salah has clarified what he meant during a post-match interview in which some interpreted his words as disrespect towards Manchester United.
The Egyptian was interviewed after a game in which he scored twice and grabbed an assist as Liverpool ran out 4-0 winners.
The victory sent the Reds back to the top of the Premier League and marked his return to scoring after six games without a goal.

Speaking after the game, he said: “They make our life easier in the midfield and in the back, they always try to give us the ball in a one against one situation so it makes our life much easier.
“When we defend we had a clean sheet here and a clean sheet there, so they make our life easier.”
Somehow, his words were misconstrued and interpreted as Salah suggesting the Manchester United midfield and defence make it easier for him to play.
It’s not what he meant but he’s not wrong as Arsenal, Watford, Benfica (x2) and Manchester City (x2) kept him quiet while United predictably caved in under pressure.
Taking to Twitter this afternoon, the forward clarified what he meant.
He said: “I meant our midfield, and our defence, make it easy for us.
“I was not talking about the Manchester United players whom I respect.”

Liverpool are now primed for the end of season run-in as Salah looks to be back at his best.
His assist for Diaz was picture book passing from the Reds as they dissected Manchester United’s defence after 4 minutes.
The first goal he scored was simply brilliant and he owes a debt of gratitude to Sadio Mane for the sumptuous pass the Senegalese forward played to him.
Salah’s first touch was perfect, however, taking the ball out of his feet and setting himself up for a cool finish.

The final goal of the game and Salah’s second was a cheeky finish and my favourite kind.
As someone who grew up watching Lionel Messi, dinked chips over a goalie will always be one of my favourite finishes.
He did have a helping hand from the sprawling Aaron Wan-Bissak whose deflection aided the deft touch over David De Gea.
