Mino Raiola angry at ‘fake news’ which is a major boost in Liverpool’s interest in Erling Haaland

Liverpool are reportedly one of the clubs that held a meeting with Mino Raiola and Alf Inge Haaland but the former has now rubbished claims over how much it will cost to sign Erling.

Marca report that Raiola and Haaland’s father want €20million each for their role in facilitating a move for the Borussia Dortmund forward. They also claim that they are making demands for their Norwegian client to be paid €600,000 per week.

The agent earned a huge amount of money when Manchester United signed Paul Pogba from Juventus but has used his Twitter account to lash out at ‘fake news.’ According to the book Done Deal by Daniel Geey, Raiola himself collected a £40 million fee from the club.

Raiola, posting from his Twitter account, has claimed: “Fake news travels quick and far.”

The agent attached a video of several websites and publications reporting on Marca’s claim that he wants €20million from whichever club signs Haaland this summer.

If this is true it’s a big deal for a club like Liverpool that cannot afford to pay huge fees to agents or €600,000/week to a 20-year-old. The Reds are likely one of the more conservative sides interested in Haaland, with the likes of Manchester City able to offer much larger sums.

The Anfield outfit, however, can offer the chance to win silverware and compete for top honours season after season which the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United cannot.

Haaland has scored 33 goals and provided 8 assists this season and is the top goalscorer in the Champions League by some way. With 10 strikes in the competition, he’s at least four goals ahead of his closest competitor and will be hungry to add to his tally against Manchester City.
