Xherdan Shaqiri has already agreed €350,000/month personal terms as Lyon look to sign him but Burnley and Maxwell Cornet could hold the key to his future.
According to Sky Sports, Burnley have made a £12m offer to Lyon for Maxwell Cornet and if true, it could give the French side the funds necessary to improve their bid for Xherdan Shaqiri.
Last week, it was reported that the Ligue 1 outfit had made a €6million offer for the winger but Liverpool are holding out for at least €8million.
L’Equipe claims that Lyon and Shaqiri already have an agreement on personal terms which will see him earn €350,000/month should he be allowed to move to France.

Born in Kosovo in 1991, he has represented Switzerland at three FIFA World Cups as well as being a Champions League `winner with Germany’s Bayern Munich.
Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and Lyon are still in talks over a fee for Shaqiri and the player hasn’t been in training or matchday squads since it was reported that Lyon were keen on signing him.
The longer the Reds take to sell Shaqiri, the less likely it is they will be able to bring in a new signing before the end of this month.
Jurgen Klopp could do with a midfielder to replace the industrious Georginio Wijnaldum although Naby Keita was fantastic in the Dutchman’s role on the left-hand side of the Liverpool midfield on Saturday.
Of course, there has never been any doubt over the Guinean’s ability but rather over his fitness and if he can answer the perennial question surrounding him and injuries, he could become a world-class midfielder for the Reds.

However, as history shows us, Keita is unlikely to go an entire season without an injury while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain probably won’t either.
Not signing a new midfielder is very risky. Keita is also set to join Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah at AFCON this summer so Liverpool will be three men light at a key part of the season.
Jurgen Klopp must have a plan for how to deal with the absences of such talented players otherwise I’m sure he’d be putting more pressure on FSG to sell deadwood.
