EDIT: Liverpool Football Club have confirmed that Marko Grujic has moved to Porto!
Liverpool’s transfer plans seem to finally be picking up some speed as they rely on outgoing both for funds and for homegrown player slots.
Freelance journalist David Lynch said recently that he believes that as soon as the Reds are able to get a few of their non-homegrown players off the books, it could snowball in the transfer market as it did last summer with Thiago and Diogo Jota.

Now, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Marko Grujic could be the next player through the door after an agreement was reached with Porto.
He writes: “Liverpool are working on their outgoings in order to sign new players in the next weeks.
“Marko Grujić will be announced as new Porto player – agreement completed.
“Grujić will sign until June 2026 and wanted to re-join Porto on a long term project, after Sassuolo bid.”

Liverpool fans will be excited to hear that Grujic and other departures will enable them to bring in new players.
While it would be much better for the Reds to be able to sign players without needing to sell deadwood, it is what it is.
Links between Liverpool and Lille star Renato Sanches were shot down by the ECHO’s Paul Gorst last week but interest remains in both Donyell Malen and Saul.
While signing Atletico Madrid’s no.8 will prove trickier given that Barcelona and Manchester United are also interested, a deal to sign Malen is one that could progress quickly.

Signing a midfielder is a priority for the club but as Fabrizio Romano said in mid-June, their main priority is to sign an attacker.
After Borussia Dortmund agreed personal terms with Malen, Liverpool then reached a verbal agreement over wages with the Dutchman and his agent, Mino Raiola.
With Grujic, a non-homegrown Liverpool player set to leave the club, the Reds will be able to use the funds from his sale to sign Malen as well as free up a spot in the squad.
The Reds don’t want to sign another non-homegrown player without moving one on otherwise they run the risk of being forced to exclude players on matchdays due to Premier League rules.
