One of Brazil’s best young talents has earmarked Liverpool as a dream move and claimed he’d love to play for the Reds one day.
Joao Gomes of Flamengo is a young Brazilian midfielder who has been making a name for himself in South America in a side that features plenty of ex-PL talent.
He hopes to one day join the masses of young Brazilian talents that have made the move over to Europe and follow in the footsteps of the likes of Oscar, Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior to name a few.
But he’s singled out Liverpool as a dream destination – and fans may push for the move in years to come.
Flamengo are STACKED. They've got Oscar now on top of Pedro, Joao Gomes, Gabigol and my man De Arrascaeta. Then you got the oldheads like Diego, David Luiz, Arturo Vidal, Erick Pulgar, Filipe Luis and Diego Alves. Guillermo Varela and both Evertons are there too https://t.co/xKRPae2VvA

Links to the Premier League
So far, only Manchester United have been linked with the talented 21-year-old currently tearing it up at Flamengo – with the club sending scouts to watch the midfielder.
This week, João Gomes took part in a live streaming on Instagram, speaking to fans. And one of the questions was regarding his wish of moving to the Premier League, with a specific question about the Reds.
“Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play,” said João Gomes (via ESPN Brasil).
“Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”
Liverpool future?
With the Reds always in the market for young, rising talent – Gomes may become more mainstream in the season to come.
The links with United have only happened earlier this season and it won’t be long before a European side comes in to secure his services.
Liverpool will continue to pursue Jude Bellingham long-term, but face stiff competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Whereas they’ve also offered a new long-term deal to Stefan Bajcetic who plays in the same position as Gomes – most likely ruling out any future move for the Brazilian.
