French giants Lyon are reportedly pursuing a remarkable double transfer move targeting strikers from both Rangers and Hearts.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Lyon are eyeing moves for Youssef Chermiti and Claudio Braga as they seek attacking reinforcements.
The Ligue 1 club lost Endrick, who led their forward line on loan from Real Madrid during the second half of last season, leaving a significant gap to fill.
It remains unclear whether the two Scottish Premiership strikers are viewed as alternatives to one another or whether Lyon intend to pursue both simultaneously.
Rangers have been one of the busiest clubs in the SPFL this summer, with Derek McInnes’ side making Dan Neil their fifth signing of the window.
Hearts have been equally active under Wouter Vrancken, bringing in eight players as the Edinburgh club undergoes a significant rebuild heading into the new campaign.
Both clubs may now find themselves dealing with major outgoings if Lyon decide to firm up their reported interest in either or both forwards.
In the case of Chermiti, Rangers are reportedly holding firm at a £25m valuation, while reports emerging from Spain suggest Lyon are seeking a deal closer to £17m.
The gap between the two parties suggests any negotiations over the Portuguese striker could prove lengthy and complicated before a resolution is reached.
Hearts, meanwhile, are expected to demand a club-record fee should they receive a serious approach for Braga, who is contracted at Tynecastle until 2028.
Braga delivered an outstanding debut season in Scotland last term, registering 17 goals in a hugely impressive campaign that has clearly attracted attention from top European clubs.
The £9m Sunderland paid for Craig Gordon back in 2007 remains the record departure from Hearts, and any deal for Braga would likely need to reach that kind of territory.
With both clubs investing heavily in new arrivals this summer, losing a prized striker to a top European side would represent a significant challenge to their respective ambitions for the season ahead.
