Huge boost: Special Liverpool player is a lot closer to injury return than previously reported

Luis Diaz injury return nearing as report reveals huge boost

Liverpool fans will rejoice at the news that Luis Diaz is back sooner than expected and will likely be close to full fitness by the time the Premier League season resumes in late December.

A report from Football Insider claims that the Colombian will return in December from his knee injury and will play a full part in the Reds’ mid-season training camp in Dubai.

He will not return in time to play any games for Liverpool before club football in Europe is suspended for the World Cup in Qatar on 12th November.

It’s heartbreaking that Diaz will not be able to attend the tournament himself as he would no doubt have been one to watch but the silver lining is that he should be close to full fitness by the start of 2023.

Luis Diaz injury return

That said, Jurgen Klopp will not be taking any risks with his only natural left winger.

Liverpool have sorely missed his pace and creativity since he was injured against Arsenal in early October.

This season has been overshadowed by constant injuries to starters and squad players alike.

We’re all hoping for a bit more luck in 2023 to ensure Klopp has a fair chance at getting the best out of a struggling set of players.

For those that have found it too difficult to look at the table in recent weeks, the Reds are currently 9th on 16 points and are 8 points behind fourth-placed Newcastle United.

The Magpies are showing all the qualities that Liverpool should look to emulate in order to climb back into the top four before the end of the season.

As much as I try to tell myself we could still win the Premier League if Klopp is able to inspire a surge through the table in the second half of the season, chances of winning the league title are all but gone.

It’s hugely disappointing to see how this season has turned out but perhaps Europe can provide a platform for success although any elite team remaining in the competition will fancy their chances against this current Liverpool team.
