Major hint dropped that winger with £51million release clause could be on his way to Anfield before Deadline Day

After being linked with a move to Liverpool, Lucas Ocampos may well be on his way to Anfield after his wife, Majooh Barbeito, added the iconic phrase “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to her Instagram bio.

Anfield Edition cited Spanish news outlet Fichajes on the weekend as reporting that Liverpool are considering making a late move to sign Sevilla winger Ocampos.

There are just a few days left in the 2021 summer transfer window and a move to sign the 27-year-old would be dramatic to say the least.

However, some eagle-eyed fans have noticed that his wife has added Liverpool’s famous anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” to her Instagram bio which could be considered a major hint that he might make the move to Merseyside this summer.

The link from Fichajes, via Anfield Edition, is tenuous at best but if Liverpool are going to sign the left-winger, they are going to have to act quickly.

According to a report from Goal from March, Ocampos has a £51m release clause in his contract with Sevilla which would make a deal to bring him to England quite pricey.

The Premier League transfer window slams shut on Tuesday evening at midnight and it must be said that it’s not in Liverpool’s nature to make late moves of this nature.

Ocampos is also 27 so he hardly fits the transfer profile that FSG and Michael Edwards scour the market for.

Thiago Alcantara was a major exception but world-class midfielders like the Spaniard don’t become available too often and Jurgen Klopp was an admirer of his for a long time.

As Fabrizio Romano reported before Xherdan Shaqiri’s move to Lyon, if Liverpool are going to enter the transfer market at this late stage, it’s more likely to be for a Diogo Jota-type player.

Liverpool’s squad is in a good place and while it could do with one or two finishing touches, Jurgen Klopp is more than capable of guiding this group to more silverware.

He’s going to need his fair share of luck to do so as injuries will play a decisive role in who wins the Premier League this season but if the Reds can keep their key players fit then they will be able to go the distance.
