Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Fiorentina want €60million for Dusan Vlahovic, who according to Maxi Angelo, models himself on Erling Haaland.

The Reds need a new centre-forward. While many fans like myself want to see Roberto Firmino want to see him return to the form that saw him score 27 goals and assist 17 in 2017/18, those days seem to be behind him.

For now, it seems as though Liverpool could do with a new centre-forward and with Chelsea signing Romelu Lukaku, Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho and Manchester City signing Jack Grealish, could Liverpool sign Dusan Vlahovic?

My best guess would be no and I’m sure you’d agree.

That said, after previously being linked with Dusan Vlahovic, the Reds have now learnt that it will cost as much as €60million (£50.8m) to sign the Serbian.

According to Maxi Angelo, a self-dubbed Italian football connoisseur, Vlahovic models himself on Haaland, who he studies a lot.

He says: “He doesn’t have the same pace though and is not as involved in the game as Haaland.

“Not a big presser. But so clinical, strong in duels, smart and has amazing anticipation. Love him as a player.”

Vlahovic is similarly clinical and while he would not be the type of forward that Liverpool fans are used to at Anfield, he would transform the Reds back into the terrifying side that used to tear sides apart.

He scored 21 league goals for Fiorentina last season and while that doesn’t guarantee he would translate that to the Premier League for Liverpool, he has looked like an incredible player.

Unlike Mane and Salah, Vlahovic is a pure no.9 and is very un-versatile but that has seen him make that role his own.

Aside from Divock Origi, Liverpool don’t have a real striker at the club and the Belgian isn’t really a player you would describe as clinical.

Signing Vlahovic could take the Reds to that next level and with Virgil van Dijk returning to injury, it would be so exciting to see what Jurgen Klopp’s side would be able to accomplish.

Of course, it’s very difficult to imagine FSG paying a fee like that without selling a player like Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane which we know will not happen.
