Liverpool reportedly want to sign Todd Cantwell and the Englishman perfectly fits the FGS model for transfers.

90Min claims that Jurgen Klopp ‘appreciates’ Norwich City’s Cantwell and West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen and wanted to sign Ismaila Sarr but Watford weren’t willing to sell for £30m.

Cantwell, unlike Bowen, is a player that could really fit in at Liverpool and has massive potential to be a great player in the Premier League.

His energy and pressing ability make him an ideal target for Liverpool while his passing and dribbling are very eye-catching.

He needs to add more goals and assists to his game if he wants to earn a move to Liverpool, however, as he managed just six goals and 8 assists last season in the Championship.

Now that the Canaries have won promotion back to the Premier League, it will be interesting to see how the 23-year-old cracks on.

On paper, Cantwell has the potential the be the ideal FSG signing at 23 years of age with his contract set to expire next summer.

Transfermarkt values him at £19.8m but snatching him up for free next season if he’s ready for a move to Liverpool would make far more sense.

If he’s not, the Dereham-born midfielder has a clause to renew with Norwich for another year but I imagine he’d move to different club if Liverpool told him to wait which would be understandable.

When big clubs come in offering big wages, it’s rare to see players wait around for a specific club without a very special reason.
