Liverpool went level on points with Spurs at the top last night after dismantling a strong Wolves side 4-0 at Anfield.
The big talking point before kick-off was the return of fans inside Anfield since becoming Premier League champions. The last time fans saw their side play at home was back on March 11th as the Reds faced Atletico Madrid.
After a bright start from the Reds, Mo Salah took advantage of a lack of concentration from Conor Coady to give his side the lead in the 24th minute. In the second half, goals from Gini Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and an own goal from Nelson Semedo concluded a great performance from Jurgen’s men.

How Liverpool swept aside a strong Wolves side will please Jurgen Klopp and the 2000 fans inside Anfield. The injuries suffered so far have yet to stop Liverpool from looking like defending their champion status. With fixtures coming thick and fast yet again, these group of players do not look like slowing down.
So after last night’s win, what did we learn from the game?
Kelleher is more than ready to be Alisson’s understudy.
After making his Champions League debut on Tuesday night against Ajax, Caoimhin Kelleher retained his place for last night’s game. The 22-year old Irish keeper did not look out of place in this side.

His save from Daniel Podence’s chip was the highlight of the Irishman’s night in between the sticks. His quick footwork allowed Kelleher to get across his goal and tip the show around the post.
With two clean sheets in two starts now this week, Kelleher has surely gone up in the pecking order under Klopp.
Wijnaldum deserves a new deal
The Dutchman was one of the best performers on the pitch for the Reds. The midfielder showed Liverpool fans and management why they would be fools to let him walk away for nothing.

He played both parts of his role well, however, we saw how effective Gini is when allowed to play the box-to-box midfield role. His sublime strike to curl the ball into the top corner was the icing on the cake for Wijnaldum’s performance.
With Gini being one of Liverpool’s most consistent players this season, it would be a poor decision for the club to let him just walk away.
Matip and Fabinho on the same wavelength.
Liverpool fans feared the worst when Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both suffered potential season-ending injuries so early into their title defence. However, Matip and Fabinho have started to form a solid partnership at the back.

The pair have played together three times in the league so far keeping two clean sheets and conceding just one goal.
Their ability to prevent a Leicester City side including Jamie Vardy and Wolves with the pace of Adama Traoré and Daniel Podence from scoring is pleasing to see.
