Liverpool are set to sign a ‘once-in-a-generation’ striker in Alexander Isak in a shock move that has taken Europe’s elite by surprise. With comparisons already being made to some of the game’s greatest forwards, the forward is seen as a long-term heir to Anfield’s legendary No.9 shirt — and fans have every reason to be excited.
Florian Wirtz is set to join Liverpool for a potentially British record transfer fee, but the club are not done yet, and are plotting several other huge deals.
Liverpool are considering rekindling their interest in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, with the Magpies prepared to sell if they receive an offer between £75m and £80m.
The club are still in the market for a number 9, and it has been claimed that Liverpool are still in the race to sign a ‘once-in-a-generation’ striker in the summer window.

Liverpool are set to sign Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak is the striker Liverpool want to sign despite the shortlist of alternatives they have drawn up this summer.
Liverpool have been monitoring the Newcastle United forward for a year, and he is still the number one target inside the Anfield recruitment department.
According to the Sun, the Liverpool chiefs are still holding out to make a move for Isak in the ongoing transfer window.
The Swede remains the unanimous choice, and they have not given up on the prospect of snaring him away from Newcastle this summer.
However, they are not going to give in to Newcastle’s unreasonable demands, and the Magpies would have to agree to lower their £150m asking price.
Newcastle are counting on convincing Isak to sign a new contract, but his wage demands could decimate their carefully constructed salary structure.
