Liverpool to hijack Newcastle forward in record-breaking move

In a shock development, Liverpool are set to sign a forward from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, according to fresh reports. The move — which few saw coming — could have major implications for both clubs as the summer transfer window heats up.

Liverpool’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz has already shown that the club are prepared to be bold and ambitious to land their top targets in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Once the Wirtz and Milos Kerkez deals are over the line, Liverpool’s summer spending would be touching the £200m mark, but they have more fuel left in the tank to do a couple more big deals.

Liverpool are now plotting to sign a top Newcastle United forward as they look to add more pace and menace to their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Liverpool to sign Newcastle forward in an ambitious move

Alexander Isak is the top target for Liverpool this summer, but they have a better chance of landing his teammate Anthony Gordon in the ongoing window.

The England winger was on the verge of joining Liverpool last year, but Newcastle backed out of a deal at the last moment, which disappointed the player.

The former Everton winger wants to return to Merseyside, and Liverpool are plotting to sign the Newcastle star later in the window.

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle are yet to receive an approach for Gordon, but they have not ruled out selling him for a big fee this summer.

They are in no mood to accept cut-price offers for the winger, and if Gordon leaves, it would have to be the biggest sale in the club’s history by some distance.

Andy Carroll’s £35m move to Liverpool is still the biggest sale at Newcastle, but the Magpies want more than double that amount for Gordon this summer.
