Liverpool could be set to bring another winger to Merseyside in January.
With Mohamed Salah seemingly no longer indispensable from Liverpool’s starting XI, the red half of Merseyside has just become an even more attractive place for quality wingers to play their football.
With Salah’s Liverpool future uncertain and a replacement for Luis Diaz not being signed in the summer, it is clear that the Reds need to invest in a new wide player in January.
Whilst Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo has been one of the names linked with Liverpool, Richard Hughes and Co. certainly seem to be keeping their options open.

Although Dominik Szoboszlai has done a solid job out wide for the Reds at times this season, bringing a winger in so the Hungarian can be exclusively used as a midfielder should be a priority for Liverpool.
According to reports from TeamTalk on 3 December, Liverpool, alongside Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham, are actively pursuing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo.
Rodrygo, 24, is undoubtedly a talented player, but due to the amount of attacking quality Madrid possesses, regular gametime can be hard to come by for the Brazilian international.
- Rodrygo has started just three games in La Liga so far this season
- The winger has an average of just 27 minutes per game this season
- Rodrygo has only played a total of 346 minutes domestically so far this campaign
The report suggests that Rodrygo wants to leave Real Madrid, with the Spanish outfit valuing their winger anywhere between £70-79million.
Real Madrid are said to want to keep hold of Rodrygo until the summer, but if Liverpool are determined to turn their season around, they should not let this dissuade them from putting in a lucrative bid.

When speaking to Genting Casino back in 2024, former Arsenal midfielder Petit reinforced the claim that Rodrygo does not get the limelight at Madrid that his talent warrants.
The former French international claimed: “He’s (Rodrygo) so underrated, and gets overshadowed by Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr,” before urging his former club Arsenal to sign him.
It would be a catastrophic blow if a player of Rodrygo’s talents were to end up at either Arsenal or Manchester City from a Liverpool perspective, making it all the more imperative that the Reds go and get a deal done for the winger in January.
