Liverpool are set to break the bank for a Premier League star in what could be one of the most headline-grabbing moves of the summer. With new head coach Arne Slot keen to build a squad capable of challenging on all fronts, the Reds have identified a top-flight sensation who could shatter their current transfer record and ignite the Anfield faithful.
The Merseyside giants are all set to break the British transfer record with the signature of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, with the midfielder expected to join this week.
Liverpool have already signed Jeremie Frimpong on a deal worth £30m, which is a club-record fee paid for a full-back, breaking the £18.5m they paid for Glen Johnson in 2009.
However, the Merseyside giants are not done breaking transfer records, and Liverpool are set to sign a Premier League star on another record fee this summer.

Milos Kerkez was long identified as the left-back target for Liverpool this summer, and the club already have a verbal agreement with the player and his representatives.
Liverpool are certain about signing the full-back despite their issues during negotiations with Bournemouth.
According to inews, the Merseyside giants will break their club record fee paid for a full-back for the second time this summer.
The two clubs are in advanced negotiations for Kerkez to move to Anfield for a deal worth between £40m and £45m.
That will be the club record fee for a full-back, breaking the £300 they paid for Frimpong earlier in the transfer window.
A deal is expected to be finalised this week, but Liverpool are in no hurry, as Kerkez is currently on his holidays, and the Reds can afford to take their time.
