Liverpool encountered a few problems in their first season under Arne Slot.
The club’s attacking options have not been reliable this season. Outside Mohamed Salah who has been involved in over 40 goals, Liverpool’s second highest scorer in the league is Luis Diaz with nine goals. A center forward remains a priority for the reds ahead of this summer. Arne Slot has shown he is not a fan of Darwin Nunez, with the club set to ship the Uruguayan out of Anfield this summer.
The reds will find it difficult to sell Nunez this summer, after Newcastle reportedly shut down a proposal.

Liverpool join race for French star

Liverpool are one of the multiple clubs interested in Hugo Ekitike according to Anfield Sector. The reds believe the French youngster will be cheaper that Alexander Isak. Newcastle reportedly value Isak around 150million, which is close to double of how much Frankfurt are willing to let Ekitike go for.
The 22-year old has burst onto the scene this season. Ekitike has 13 goals and four assists in the Bundesliga this season. During the last international break he put an England U21 team full of Premier League stars to the sword, scoring a hattrick.
What about Hugo Ekitike’s failed PSG move?
Many people who doubt the Frenchman’s ability often reference his failed move to PSG. He only made 26 league appearances with the Ligue 1 holders over two seasons. Ekitike only scored 3 goals during that period. The striker says his time in France has made him a better player, after learning from Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi:
“At the time, I didn’t see things like that because I wanted to play,” he told TNT Sports. “But it’s only now, after spending a lot of time at home reflecting on what happened, that I’ve realised that I’ve been lucky enough to be in a place where no one else has been.
“I’m always on a quest to learn. I have a thirst for learning. I realised that at the end of the day, I’d maybe spent a year, a year-and-a-half watching the best players in the world go through their paces in training and even in matches. Sometimes up close, sometimes a little further away.”
