Liverpool reportedly front runners to sign five players that would transform them

Kylian Mbappe of PSG

SkyBet have reportedly made Liverpool the favourites to sign five different players, with Kylian Mbappe the most attractive option while Aaron Ramsey has bizarrely been boosted to move to Anfield.

The summer transfer window is truly upon us with several players linked with a move to Anfield in the last few days alone.

From Jonathan Ikone to Dusan Vlahovic, Liverpool are being linked with a multitude of players when in reality they will only wind up signing two or three more barring a radical change of events.

The Liverpool Echo now reports that SkyBet have made Jurgen Klopp the favourite to sign not just Kylian Mbappe but Luis Suarez, Raphinha, Youri Tielemans and Aaron Ramsey.

Ramsey is a definite given his age and reported £400,000/week wages while Luis Suarez has ruled out a summer move away from Atletico Madrid.

“Yes, I’m sure (I’ll stay),” Suarez told Spanish network Movistar Plus following Atletico’s title presentation at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

Raphinha only joined Leeds United last summer and something tells me that Transfermarkt is a little off what Marco Bielsa would demand for his Brazilian forward, with the stats site valuing him at £22.5million following an excellent debut season in the Premier League.

He got 8 goals and 11 assists in all competitions for Leeds and has attracted attention from several clubs around the continent.

Then there’s Tielenmans, who I wrote about recently following a report from Belgian news outlet Nieuwsblad.

I wrote: “The Belgian star won Leicester’s Players’ Player of the Year award, highlighting just how highly he is regarded by his teammates.

“He wins the prize despite Jamie Vardy once again hitting his standard heights with 17 goals and 9 assists for the Foxes. That said, Vardy is an out and out no.9 while Tielemans is a midfielder and yet, the 24-year-old was directly involved in 15 goals himself.

“His best and most important was obviously the piledriver against Chelsea but what Jurgen Klopp is likely most attracted to is his combination of goalscoring from midfield and ability to win the ball back and move it on quickly.”

Mbappe is mentioned, of course, and even if Merseyside is his most likely destination, it would take a financial miracle for the Reds to sign him this summer while he still has a year left on his contract in Paris.

It simply doesn’t make any logical sense to sign him before his contract with PSG expires and that’s before you consider how much his wages cost.
