Liverpool are in the market for a centre-back, and the club are scouring the market for options ahead of the transfer window. The Merseyside giants have received a major boost to pursue the signature of one of their top targets in the coming weeks.
Signing a defender is one of the priorities for Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window, but it has not gone according to plan for the recruitment team this summer.
Dean Huijsen was the top target, and the club worked on a deal for months, but he shocked everyone by choosing to leave the Premier League and move to Real Madrid.
Liverpool have had to change plans, but it seems they now have enough encouragement to push forward with a move for one of their other top defensive target this summer.

A top Reds target is pushing for a transfer this summer

Liverpool have already raided Bayer Leverkusen for Jeremie Frimpong and are pushing to sign Florian Wirtz in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Merseyside giants have their eyes on Leverkusen star in the form of centre-back Piroe Hincapie for a move in the summer.
He is a left-sided defender who can slot in beside Virgil van Dijk, and he believes the centre-back could be a brilliant addition to the squad for next season.
Manuel Sierra, his agent, has revealed that the defender is happy at Bayer Leverkusen. However, he admitted that this could be the summer for him to move on from the club.
“Piero‘s future is open”, Sierra told Sky Deutschland.
“There are enquiries. He feels comfortable in Leverkusen, but this summer could be a good moment for the next step.”
Leverkusen are likely to sell Hincapie if a club offer £50m for him this summer.
