Liverpool star’s £43m transfer collapses in shock twist

The summer transfer window at Liverpool has taken a dramatic turn, with a £43m deal for one of their key stars collapsing at the final hurdle. The transfer was thought to be nearly complete before a shock twist left both clubs and the player scrambling for answers. With time still left in the window, it remains to be seen if the move can be revived — or if the Reds will be forced to rethink their plans.

Liverpool are keen to get a move on in their efforts to sell a few players in the coming weeks as they push towards bringing in funds through sales this summer.

The Merseyside giants have already identified the players they want to move on, and their representatives have been sounding out clubs who have their eyes on the player.

A top Red seemed close to leaving Liverpool, but it seems those negotiations are not going to lead to anything as the deal has collapsed due to several factors.

Liverpool star Darwin Nunez’s exit deal has collapsed

Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool, and his representatives have been working hard to set up a deal to finalise his Anfield exit this summer.

Napoli have been in talks to sign the striker, with Antonio Conte keen on taking the Uruguayan to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in the ongoing window.

However, according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness, his potential move to Nunez is on the verge of collapsing.

The Serie A giants have been left frustrated as Liverpool are refusing to budge on their asking price to allow a £43m deal to go through, and Nunez’s wage demands are adding to the complication.

The Italian champions have now opened talks to sign Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca, who has also agreed to join Napoli this summer.

Liverpool want to sell Nunez to Saudi Arabia to maximise the transfer fee they could get from his departure.
