Klopp can kill two birds with one stone by raiding Real Madrid in £94m double swoop – opinion

Liverpool need a versatile forward and a new midfielder this summer and should raid Real Madrid for Vinicius Jr and Federico Valverde.

With Georginio Wijnaldum already confirmed as a new PSG player and with Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri both set to leave the club, a new midfielder and a new forward are needed.

The midfielder needs to be energetic, capable of pressing high up the pitch and good on the ball. Real Madrid’s Fede Valverde fits the bill and would be an incredible player in the Reds’ engine room.

The forward needs to be quick, capable of scoring and assisting in large quantities and also needs to be versatile. Vinicius Jr fits the bill perfectly as well.

Sergio Ramos will leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after 16 years at the club and it might be the perfect time for Liverpool to swoop in and make a move to sign two of Real Madrid’s most promising players.

Carlo Ancelotti is the new manager and the Spanish giants are going through a period of uncertainty that essentially began when Cristiano Ronaldo left the club to join Juventus in 2018.

Liverpool must act with authority and make a move to poach Valverde and Vinicius Jr and reinforce two areas of the squad that need quality this summer.

They’re 22 and 20 respectively and while Transfermarkt values them at £58.5million and £36million respectively, a double swoop worth around £94million would underline the Reds’ ambition ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Liverpool fans are all too familiar with how devastating Vinicius Jr can be on the counter-attack and still only 20, he can develop into one of the best wingers in the world in the coming years.

Granted he only got 6 goals and 7 assists this season, I think people often forgot how young his given the hype surrounding his move to Real Madrid but under a manager like Jurgen Klopp, he would grow and even has the potential to be a better left-wing than Sadio Mane.

The Senegal attacker has become one of the best players in the Premier League since he swapped St. Mary’s for Anfield in 2016.

With a strong Brazilian contingency, Liverpool should use the likes of Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino to convince their compatriot to move to England.

Valverde, meanwhile, is a tenacious player and is willing to put the team’s needs over his own. He proved this when he committed the ‘greatest professional foul’ of all time when he scythed Alvaro Morata down when he was through on goal in the 115th minute of the Supercopa final against Atletico Madrid in 2020.

That ruthlessness and desire to win has made him one of the most difficult midfielders to play against.

Blessed with incredible recovery pace and astounding ability to win the ball back, he’d he a fantastic replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.
