Liverpool made a bid for Kingsley Coman in the summer and after rejecting Bayern Munich’s latest contract renewal attempts, he could be on his way to the Premier League.
As I’ve mentioned recently, Sadio Mane doesn’t seem to be operating at the levels he has been in recent years and while my greatest desire is to see him become the demon that terrorised defences in the Premier League once more, he’s almost the wrong side of 30.
Liverpool need to start thinking about who his successor is the way that Diogo Jota is Roberto Firmino’s and Kingsley Coman could be a good fit for Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
According to Gazetta dello Sport, via beinSPORTS, a Liverpool bid was lodged worth around €35million (£30m) although they did claim that at least €50million (£42.5m) was required to sell him.
Now, according to Le10 Sport, the winger is dreaming of a move to the Premier League and he has been rejecting all contract offers from Bayern Munich and with his terms with the Bavarians set to expire in 2023, they have January and next summer to recoup a fee for him.
They go on to say that the 25-year-old won’t struggle to find a new club in England as he is “hunted by Liverpool and Manchester City.”
A front three of Coman, Jota and Salah has everything you’d want it to. Pace, skill and goals. It also has the hunger and desire that Klopp needs in order for his side to carry out his counter-pressing tactics.
Apparently, Bayern Munich will only let him go for £60m, according to Goal, which may be beyond Liverpool’s budget but Coman is a fantastic player and Klopp is likely to be able to work wonders with the Frenchman.
With his contract set to expire in 2023, Bayern only have January and the summer transfer windows left to recoup a fee for him so Liverpool should chance their arm when the window reopens in the new year and see if they can improve their squad midway through the season.
Potential Liverpool lineup: 4-3-3 – Alisson, Robertson, van Dijk, Matip, Trent, Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Coman, Jota, Salah.
