Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo this season, where he has emerged as one of the potent attackers in the Premier League.

Brentford are expecting offers for him in the summer, and the Reds are keen to negotiate a deal to take him to Anfield in the coming months.

However, according to CaughtOffSide, Manchester United are prepared to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of the Premier League star in the coming weeks.

Ruben Amorim wants versatile forwards such as Mbeumo, and the club are prepared to table an opening bid for him in the summer transfer window.

Brentford are aware that they could be forced to sell the striker, but want somewhere between £60m and £65m before agreeing to sell the attacker in the coming months.

They feel, given his current form, Brentford have every right to seek a premium fee for a player who has a contract until 2026 with an option of another year.
