Liverpool shock Arsenal with stunning £49m hijack of La Liga sensation

Liverpool want to be aggressive this summer as they push to secure deals to bolster Arne Slot’s title-winning squad. The Reds will not shy away from entering bidding wars with Premier League rivals, and are set to sign a top winger from under Arsenal’s nose.

Arne Slot wants to revamp his squad over the summer, and if he has his way, the Reds would have a very different-looking forward line at the start of next season.

Signing a striker is a priority, and the Reds are looking at a few world-class strikers who could come in and make an instant impact on the team.

However, Liverpool are also looking at wingers and wide forwards, and are set to pull off a cunning swoop to sign an attacker who is Arsenal’s priority target.

Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?

Arsenal set to lose out on top target to Anfield overtures

Nico Williams has been tipped to leave Athletic Bilbao this summer, with several clubs in the Premier League interested in signing him in the coming months.

He is the priority target for Barcelona, and Arsenal have also identified him as their number one option to improve their attack ahead of next season.

However, according to the Daily Mail’s Lewis Steel, Liverpool are poised to try and sign the Spanish winger in the upcoming transfer window.

He said on TikTok: “I think Liverpool will sign a striker and, let’s see, maybe a wide forward too. Keep an eye on Nico Williams.”

The Reds are in the market for wide forwards, and Williams has emerged as a top option for the Reds ahead of next season.

Arsenal have been trying to sign him since last year, but are now facing losing out on him to the Merseyside giants this summer.

He has a £49m release clause in his contract, and Williams would be interested in a move to the Premier League in the coming months.
