Liverpool set to to leave Manchester United trailing in the race for £34m La Liga star

Liverpool are plotting to spend big in the summer despite being on the brink of winning the Premier League title this season. Arne Slot wants a radical revamp of his squad and is pushing for several new faces. It seems the Reds are now in a good position to land a target despite interest from Manchester United.

Virgil van Dijk is set to sign a new contract soon, but Liverpool are still in the market for centre-backs, amidst talk of Ibrahima Konate demanding big wages on a new contract, which could see him leave in the summer.

Liverpool have already been linked with a move for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo, who could cost them £86m in the summer transfer window.

The Reds have also been keeping tabs on several other defenders, and one of them is keen on moving to Anfield despite interest from Manchester United.

La Liga star interested in a move to Anfield

Loic Balde is almost certain to leave Sevilla in the summer transfer window, and several Premier League clubs have been interested in signing him.

Manchester United are set to add to their defence in the coming months, and Balde is one of the players the club are tracking ahead of the summer.

However, according to reports in Spain via Football 365, Liverpool have stolen a march on the race to sign the Sevilla centre-back in the upcoming window.

The Reds are interested in him, and the defender would be keen to move to Anfield over other options in the summer.

Liverpool are also in a position to meet Sevilla’s asking price of £34m for the French defender in the next transfer window.

It seems that unless Liverpool look to bring in another defender, Manchester United are very much trailing in the race to sign Balde in the summer.
