Mohamed Salah will become the highest-paid player in Liverpool history, according to Paul Gorst, as the club looks to reward him for his excellence.
Ever since joining the Reds in 2017, Salah has been nothing short of a revelation and although the club was ridiculed for spending £34million, that looks like a pittance now.
He’s made Anfield his home and has become the best attacker in England upon his return to the Premier League.
While Manchester City are about to spend a fortune to sign Harry Kane, Liverpool can rest assured they have the Egyptian King for another few years at the least.

According to the Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst, “the club is eager to reward his 31-goal showing last term with an improved deal that will make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
“While accurate and reliable information over respective earnings are difficult to come by, for obvious reasons, it is believed Salah’s wage bracket is currently around the £200,000-a-week mark.
“An increase on that would take him above the current record he shares with Luis Suarez, whose last contract at Anfield was penned in December 2013.”
Salah scored 22 Premier League goals last season but has scored a total of 125 for Liverpool and also has 47 assists to his name, according to Transfermarkt.
This season should be much of the same from the ex-Chelsea forward and if he can resume his blistering form while Liverpool return to their solid defending, it should see Jurgen Klopp’s side mount a Premier League title challenge.
Of course, the German won’t want to get too carried away and will want his side to take things one game at a time but that will be the ultimate goal.
With fans back at Anfield, it’s no surprise that news of Liverpool’s desire to break their wage record to keep him at the club was met with delight.

Well deserved. He literally brought home the 3 points last season when the CB position turned into swiss cheese.

Great news! Let's be honest if he was at any other big club he would be on about £350,000-£400,000 a week anyway
