Liverpool secure surprise early deal for shock Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement

Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed earlier today that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. He is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer, but the Reds are already marching forward with their plans to replace him in the coming weeks and months.

The Trent Alexander-Arnold saga came to an end earlier today when the defender revealed that he will leave Liverpool this summer after spending 20 years at the club.

Liverpool have been expecting this to happen despite claims of potential U-turns, and he has largely been expected to join Real Madrid over the last few months.

The Merseyside giants are now going full throttle to secure a replacement, and it seems a deal is on the cards to bring in his successor early in the summer transfer window.

Liverpool set to sign the Trent Alexander-Arnold replacement

Liverpool do not want to stand still, and while they are disappointed by Alexander-Arnold’s decision, the club are keen to get in his replacement soon.

According to the Empire of the Kop, Liverpool have quickly identified Jeremie Frimpong as their top target for the upcoming summer transfer window.

It has been claimed that the club are already moving forward with signing him, and are set to table a bid between the £30m and £35m range in the coming weeks.

The Merseyside giants want to get a deal over the line soon and secure Frimpong’s arrival early in the summer transfer window.

They do not want to waste time and are keen to advance the negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days and weeks.

Frimpong has three years left on his contract, but Liverpool believe the initial offer should be good enough to convince the German club to sell him.

The Netherlands international wants to move to the Premier League and is open to joining the champions this summer.
