The British transfer market is only going up since Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak decided to make the switch to Liverpool this summer.
Florian Wirtz, being one of the most exciting midfielders in this summer’s market, saw a selling price of £116m as the Reds happily paid the premium.
Alexander Isak, on the other hand, was another record breaker. Newcastle United didn’t back down from the £125m selling price as Arne Slot made history with the transfer.
With Mohamed Salah signing an extension for two years, the Reds also need to find a replacement for the Egyptian king. Michael Olise is on the list, but Bayern Munich’s stubbornness might cost Liverpool a fortune.
Previously, the German giants decided to increase Olise’s wages so that it would be harder for other clubs to poach their talent. Now, a transfer fee of £100m is the only thing that’ll convince the Bavarians to let the Frenchman go.
An inflation has followed after the Merseysiders’ willingness to splash the cash for top talents. Marc Guéhi is also on the Liverpool transfer list following the club’s failure to sign the Englishman in the summer.
But here, Arne Slot wants to take advantage of the free deal as Guéhi’s contract expires at the end of the season.

Surprisingly, Brighton and Hove Albion are demanding a deal worth £100m. Manchester United are also in the race as Ruben Amorim is looking for reinforcements in January.
Baleba’s contract runs till 2028 with the Seagulls. The English outfit has an advantage with the option to extend it further by a year, i.e. till 2029.
Carlos’s previous club, Lille, also retains a 15% sell-on clause for any future transfers, hence Brighton won’t be the only one benefiting from the deal.
While there are no confirmed reports of the Cameroonian booking a formal request to leave, some sources have suggested that the midfielder wishes to do so.
Indykalia also reported during the summer that Baleba was planning to ask Brighton to reduce his ask price, but nothing materialised, and United seem to be willing to go back in January.
